recycling plastic bags

My plan is to melt plastic bags onto fabric, and in that way both reuse old stuff and create something new and interesting I used plastic bags, both thin ones from the market and heavier ones, an old piece of bedsheets, a normal iron and baking paper (newspapers does NOT work...!) By the way, this is not my unique idea; i were inspired by "rag bag", but imagined they use some more professional equipment ..and here we go! I ripped the plastic bags in pieces, using mostly the thin market bags. And spreading it on the fabric baking paper on top, and ironing on maximum heat! Right away, the bags are melting. ...and taking on strange shapes..? oh, but they are not sticking to the fabric! ..except for the yellow, thicker one (which i din't really think would work) cutting and melting some more (fancy, sheep-)bags Here i tried with a whole bag at once -and i learned that it's good to press really hard so the plastic wont move so much while melting, - it also sticks better! ..And with synthetic fabric it works really well! ..probably because the fabric also melts a little bit. then let's see if I can make something useful out of this yes, i could! ...christmas-presents for the whole family! I think there's a lot of uses for this technique.. Wonder if the plastic stays in wash...? update: it DOES stay in wash!! (I washed on 40°)
